Plate calculator

How it works.

Type the total weight you want, including the bar. The calculator takes off the weight of the bar, splits what is left in half, and fills each side with the heaviest plates that fit, then the next heaviest, down to the smallest.

It assumes a standard gym: a 45 lb bar with 45, 35, 25, 10, 5 and 2.5 lb plates, or a 20 kg bar with 25, 20, 15, 10, 5, 2.5 and 1.25 kg plates. Use the lb and kg buttons to switch. The plates are drawn in common gym colors, with the heaviest closest to the middle of the bar.

Plates go on in pairs, one on each side, so with these plates every total moves in steps of 5 lb (or 2.5 kg). If you ask for a weight in between, it tells you, loads the closest weight under it, and offers the nearest weights either side to try instead.

Anything at or under the weight of the bar is just the bar, with no plates.

Load It does this for your clients every set.

In the app, each client enters the bars and plates their gym actually has. When the weight changes between sets, Load It tells them only what to change, like Remove 1 × 10 lb plate per side, so nobody does plate math in the middle of a workout.
